Twilight Tales: The Countdown Begins

Opening weekend can’t come soon enough—especially with the first 2026 sightseeing cruises kicking off in late May. Until then, it’s all hands on deck preparing for another incredible season filled with fresh air, river views, and lasting memories. Whether you’re a returning guest or planning your first cruise, now’s the perfect time to start the countdown and get ready to make this season one to remember.

From peaceful sightseeing cruises to unforgettable two-day journeys, every trip promises scenic river towns, soaring eagles, and the relaxing rhythm of the water.

Here are some dates to keep in mind when planning your 2026 getaway:

  • May 23: Our 2026 season kicks off over Memorial Day Weekend with three days of sightseeing cruises!
  • May 26: We depart on our first two-day, overnight cruise to Dubuque, Iowa!
  • August 13: One-day cruises begin from Dubuque to Guttenberg, Iowa!

Often we hear all the time is, “Where does your crew sleep once we land in Dubuque?” For the past 20 years, the answer was a rented dormitory just a few miles from the Port of Dubuque—simple, reliable, and a place to stay for our hardworking crew.

That changed this past winter when we finally found a permanent home for our crew. We rolled up our sleeves, cleaned it up and got it furnished, before surprising everyone with a reveal last week.

Now, our out-of-town crew has a true home away from home during their time in Dubuque. Check out our social media posts for a full tour!

This year we say goodbye to the dynamic duo, Tom and Bonnie. Tom and Bonnie have been working for us for over 20 years handling passengers’ luggage and tending to the grounds at our dock in LeClaire. Even more than their tireless work and dedication, we are going to miss their cheerful spirit on the Twilight. Here is where they are headed to next:

Tom is currently hosts a kaleidoscope exhibit at the Putnam Museum in Davenport, Iowa. When that wraps up in September, Tom might just have to pay the Riverboat Twilight a visit.

After training us all to be master gardeners, Bonnie is going to work on jigsaw puzzles, enjoy weekly luncheons with her friends, and give her dog, Biscuit, extra snuggles.
